QuickMark – Privacy Policy

QuickMark for Jira
Effective date: August 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how cocanio.com (“QuickMark,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the QuickMark for Jira browser extension (the “Extension”) and the QuickMark website at https://cocanio.com/quickmark/ (together, the “Services”).

QuickMark is a Chrome and Microsoft Edge extension that lets you bookmark Jira issues into groups and lists and view them on a kanban-style board. Your board data stays on your device.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • People who install or use the Extension
  • Visitors to the QuickMark website
  • People who purchase a paid QuickMark plan

It does not apply to Atlassian, Jira, your organization’s Jira site, ExtensionPay, Stripe, Google, or Microsoft. Those companies have their own policies.

2. The short version

  • Your bookmarks, notes, lists, groups, and settings are stored on your computer in the browser’s local extension storage. We do not operate a QuickMark server that receives this data.
  • On Jira pages, the Extension reads only the issue key, summary (title), and issue URL so it can show the QuickMark button and save a bookmark if you choose to.
  • The Extension does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking pixels.
  • This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
  • If you buy Pro, payment is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. They collect billing details such as your email address. We do not see or store your card number.
  • Uninstalling the Extension deletes the locally stored board from that browser.

3. Information stored on your device

The Extension uses the browser storage permission to keep data in chrome.storage.local. Your board is not synced across devices.

Board data you create

When you bookmark an issue or manage your board, the Extension stores:

  • Group and list names you create
  • Issue key (for example, PROJ-123)
  • Issue summary (title) as shown on the Jira page
  • Issue URL
  • Date the bookmark was added
  • Optional notes you write (Pro)
  • Order of groups, lists, and cards
  • Whether groups are collapsed on the board

Settings

  • Jira host patterns (default *.atlassian.net, plus any custom hosts you add)
  • Button placement (next to Watch, or a floating button)
  • Floating-button position on the page

Payment status (local cache)

To know whether Pro is unlocked, the Extension keeps a local copy of ExtensionPay license data, such as an anonymous license key, install time, and paid/subscription status. That is payment-status data, not your board.

We do not upload your board, notes, or Jira content to a QuickMark server. There is no QuickMark cloud account for bookmarks.

4. Information read from Jira pages

The Extension runs on Jira Cloud sites matching https://*.atlassian.net/*. If you use Jira Server or Data Center, you can add a custom host in Settings and grant access to that site.

On those pages, the Extension:

  • Detects whether the page is a Jira issue
  • Reads the issue key from the URL or page
  • Reads the issue summary from the visible title
  • Builds a canonical issue URL
  • Injects the QuickMark button and list picker

It does not read Jira comments, descriptions, attachments, worklogs, credentials, cookies, or other fields unless they happen to appear in the issue title. It does not send Jira page content to us.

Saving a bookmark is your action. Until you click QuickMark and choose a list, issue details are used only to render the button on that page.

5. Browser permissions (and why)

PermissionWhy we use it
storageSave your board, notes, settings, and payment-status cache on this device.
tabsOpen the QuickMark board in a new tab, and reload matching Jira tabs after you change host settings so the button can attach.
scriptingAdd the QuickMark button on custom Jira hosts you approve.
Host access to *.atlassian.netShow the button on Jira Cloud issue pages.
Host access to extensionpay.comOpen the payment/login pages and check Pro status.
Optional access to other sitesOnly if you add a custom Jira host (for example jira.company.com) and approve the prompt. Used only to inject QuickMark on those hosts.

The Extension does not use these permissions to record your general browsing history or to send tab URLs to us.

6. Information we (or payment partners) receive over the network

Free use

On first run, the Extension contacts ExtensionPay so it can create an anonymous license key and later check whether you have paid. ExtensionPay states that users are anonymous until they pay, and that it does not read the websites you visit.

Your bookmarks, notes, and Jira content are not included in those requests.

Paid plans (Pro)

If you choose to pay or log in to a purchase:

  • You are taken to ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and then to Stripe Checkout
  • ExtensionPay typically collects your email address to link the license to you (receipts, login, cancellation)
  • Stripe processes the payment and handles card or other payment details
  • The Extension then stores paid/subscription status locally so Pro features unlock

We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We use paid status only to enforce plan limits (for example, group/list/issue caps on Free, and notes, import/export, and custom hosts on Pro).

Review their policies:

This website

This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics, or tracking pixels. Our host may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to operate and secure the site.

7. Import and export

Pro users can export selected groups and lists as a JSON file on their device, optionally including notes, and import a file back into the Extension. Those files stay on your computer unless you share them. Treat an export like any other file that may contain issue titles, URLs, and notes.

8. How we use information

We use information only to:

  • Provide QuickMark features (bookmarking, board, settings, host matching)
  • Enforce Free vs Pro limits
  • Process purchases through ExtensionPay and Stripe
  • Respond to support requests you send us
  • Comply with law if required

We do not:

  • Sell your personal information
  • Use your Jira data or board for advertising
  • Build a browsing profile
  • Share your board with third parties (except as you do yourself, or if legally required)

9. Data retention and deletion

  • On-device data remains until you delete items, clear extension data, or uninstall QuickMark. Uninstalling removes local Extension storage in that browser profile.
  • Export files remain wherever you saved them; delete those files yourself if you no longer want them.
  • Payment records are retained by ExtensionPay and Stripe for billing, tax, and fraud prevention, according to their policies. To request deletion of billing data, contact them and/or us at the email below.

10. Children

QuickMark is not directed at children under 16 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International users

The Extension stores board data locally. If you purchase Pro, ExtensionPay and Stripe may process your billing information in the United States or other countries. Those transfers are governed by their terms and safeguards.

12. Your choices

  • Use QuickMark without paying; Free works with local limits and no billing email
  • Choose which issues to bookmark and what to write in notes
  • Omit notes from an export
  • Add or remove custom Jira hosts (and the site access that goes with them)
  • Log in to manage or cancel a purchase via ExtensionPay
  • Uninstall the Extension to remove local board data from that browser

13. Security

Board data is stored in the browser’s extension storage for your profile. Anyone with access to that profile can see it. We do not transmit your board to QuickMark servers, which reduces that risk. No method of local storage is perfectly secure; protect your device and browser profile, especially if notes contain confidential work information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Extension or our practices change. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
